Default VBScript inside a javascript function

I need to look up a persons address in a database after they enter their last name. I have to use javascript because of the non IE browsers. How can I run a "SELECT" off of my rstContacts ADODB recordset object from the last name text boxes on change event?

Event handler functions can be used when we want to do some processing at client side. This can be input validation,<BR>displaying data when we click an item in the list etc.<BR>In your case, I don&#039t think you&#039ll need it. What you&#039ll need is to type in the text box the lastname, and use method = post<BR>action = myresponsepage.asp for example.<BR>Then, you can write the code in the myresponsepage.asp to open<BR>the connection, creating recordset etc based on the<BR>Request.Form("txtlastname"). <BR><BR>Hope that helps.<BR><BR>John
