Default Database on seperate server from Web server?

    Hi,

What are the considerations for accessing a database that is on
a seperate server than the web server? I have to have them seperate. The same-server databases work great with all my ASP stuff, but I cant get the off-server ones functional.

I&#039m using a DSN with an Intersolve driver to a Paradox database. I have the DSN set up just like the same-server ones.
The ianon user has permissions to the shared drive for the database. It DSN works fine when using MSQuery on the web server itself, but not through ASP. I get a &#039Network initialization failed&#039 on the .Execute() statement.

I&#039ve only had 3 Mt. Dews today. I&#039ll try a fourth if you think that would help...

Thanks.

If you create a DSN on the web server that points to the database server, then your ASP pages should be able to access the database through that local DSN without any problem.
