Default Prompt before close

I have a page that I want to prompt the user to make sure that they really want to close the window. Actually what I want to do is before the window is closed by clicking on the "X" prompt them with a specific message. If they say yes I want to stop this process then I will redirect them to another page. If they click no then I want them to stay on the same page without it refreshing.

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Mike
Default RE: Prompt before close

In IE only, the beforeunload event throws up an alert. The
user can cancel the close. With the onunload event the
scripter can throw up an alert or another window in IE and Netscape.
