    Hi,<BR><BR>I have a string "January101998"<BR>I want to strip the Month, Date and Year<BR>I did this<BR><BR>a="January101998"<BR>temp1 = Len(a) --&#062; a = 13<BR>month = Left(a,temp1-6) --&#062; this part give me compile error<BR><BR>IF I replace temp1-6 with a number it works fine<BR><BR>tq

    the variable "month" is reserved...just change the name to something else...<BR><BR>a="January101998"<BR>temp1 = Len(a)<BR>ourmonth = Left(a,temp1-6)<BR><BR> gotta hate that!<BR><BR>--<BR>Karl

    Hi,<BR><BR>In my actual code, I didn&#039t use "month", I used "temp".
