an understanding of client server operations is essential if you're gonna be writing server side code (eg ASP)<BR><BR>so here is an example<BR><BR>you have a frameset containing 'leftframe' and 'rightframe'<BR><BR>in 'leftframe' a link says 'show me some data in the right frame of this page'<BR><BR>this link should read something like:<BR><a href="show_me_some_data.asp" target="rightframe"><BR><BR>This is a link pointing to the right frame. It will load a page in the 'right hand frame of your frameset'. We could think of this as "client side".<BR><BR>in "show_me_some_data.asp" you have a redirect to:<BR>"here_is_the_data.asp"<BR>in the format:<BR>Response.Redirect "here_is_the_data.asp"<BR><BR>the page: "here_is_the_data.asp" now loads in 'rightframe'<BR><BR>Thereby we have sent a request from 'leftframe' to 'rightframe' (on the client) and processed the request (on the server) to return a page in 'rightframe'
