I am in the process of switching from a NT Workstation to Windows 2000 Server, and I&#039m getting some wierd errors in my ASP.
Although the code was unchanged between the two, and the dsn setup was the same, I get one of the following errors:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error &#039 80004005&#039
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Cannot update. Database or object is read-only.
/News/newsadmin.asp, line 132

ADODB.Recordset error &#039 800a0cb3&#039
Provider does not support this operation.
/News/newsadmin.asp, line 125

depending on whether I use adlockoptimistic in the code below. Note this problem, or similar ones occur all over the place on the site. Am I chasing my tail trying to fix a windows bug, or am I forgetting something here?

Set RS = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset")
connstr = "DSN=newsdb"
RS.Open "NewsTbl",Connstr,adopenstatic ,adlockoptimistic
RS.AddNew

Thanks!
D aniel
