I'm trying to add to some code that I have to give the ability to keep track of every date a product has ever sold. So basically my theory is that the DatesSold field = DatesSold + date() (code will be below). The DatesSold field is a text field since it will store a date with an HTML break tag so that it lines them down. I've also converted the date() into a string variable called vardate hoping that the text field and the date would join since they are both texts.

But no matter what I do I keep getting error:
"Invalid operator for data type. Operator equals boolean AND, type equals text."

Here is my code below:
vardate = CStr(date())
commUpdate.CommandText = "UPDATE ProductDetails SET qty = qty - " & quantities(i) & ", DateLastPurchased = '"& date() &"', DatesSold = (DatesSold & '"+ vardate +"') WHERE ProductDetailID = " & inventoryItems(i)

I'm trying to work out the DatesSold part only... the rest of it works fine.
