Does anyone know why this won't bring up any data? #2granny is a valid ID and ID is the primary key in the Access database. What is happening is that anything that begins with either # & ! " or % doesn't come up but it does work with *

http://www.mycompany.com/testing/Admin/StudentInfo/recedit.asp?ID=#2granny

This is weird. What might be the problem? If the ID is 12345 it works but if it has one of those special characters in front it doesn't work. Below is the SQL

sqlstmt = "SELECT * FROM " & stable & " WHERE Email LIKE " & "'%" & sSearchCriteria & "%' or FirstName LIKE " & "'%" & sSearchCriteria & "%' or StudentID LIKE " & "'%" & sSearchCriteria & "%'"
