Default Session variables in IIS

Doesn't IIS store session variables in cookies which are removed when the session is terminated?

Default No, session variables are stored... memory (or on swap space or whatever), but never in cookies. I think what you mean is that IIS sends a cookie to the client with a session ID, so that next time the client comes back, IIS knows which session variables the client may have. When the session is terminated (or times out), the session variables are deleted. The cookie on the client may be deleted then also, but I'm not sure about this. I would assume IIS will ask the client to delete the cookie, but I can't say that this actually happens.

Why? Are you having problems?

Oliver.
