For a couple of weeks now, we've been plaged by a problem of w3wp.exe spiking the cpu usage to 100% for several seconds. This happens very frequently, and causes "page cannot be displayed" issues. I've been watching, and we really aren't getting that many people in the system all at once. Maybe as many as 10 or 15 at one time. I've been able to use iisapp to give me the following information: PID 2924, DefaultAppPool. I really don't know what that tells me. I was hoping that I would be able to find out which of our web sites (and dare I say, the specific file that is being access, if that is the issue) on this server was causing the problem, and take care of the issue, but "PID 2924, DefaultAppPool" doesn't tell me anything.

We've got about 10 web sites running on this web server. Only one of them is really active. Have I set IIS Up Wrong? Does anyone have any ideas how I can track this down and resolve the problem?

Thanks,
Jesse
