Default CMS: Text to HTML (ASP/MS Access)

    Hi,
I am trying to build a cms for a dynamic news section. I'm not a newbie, but not a pro either.

The desired scenario:
User writes text in a textarea and it is formatted as HTML with paragraphs. I am thinking of adding 4 formatting buttons: Bold, Italic, Underline and Link/URL.

Is there a way for the user to highlight a word and click the 'bold' button to make it bold? If not, is JavaScript the best way to achieve this?

I've been to forums online where the textarea has HTML functions -- Enter key creates new paragraph. How is that done?

I have many question but don't want to waste your valuable time with them all. I would really appreciate it if you would point me in the right direction at least.

Thanks,

/Flip
