Default DataGrid - Formatting Expression

    I am looking to replace a few characters in a column with a static character (such as "X"). For instance, if the column was displaying Social Security numbers, it would return 123XX6789. I am assuming this can be done in the Data Formatting Expression under the datagrid, but I can't figure out how.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    The data formatting expression will probably work, but I can't help you with that, so you could always consider string.Substring, string.IndexOf, string.Replace, string[index]. If it is something simple, like:

111-22-3333 and you only want to show last four digits:

for (int i=0; i < ss.Length - 4; i++) ss[i] = 'X';
