Hi guys,

could using the wrong locktype on an insert or update cause access connections to grind to a halt? Here's the situation: I run a busy asp 3/access website (access uses a dsn - even though I know it's slower). Every so often the site just hangs (sometimes not for days, then BANG: three times a day). Still serves non-database asp content (e.g. a timestamp) and html, but anything asking from a database fails to load, but without returning an error or timing out.

I've searched for memory leaks. Pretty sure it's not that.

The log files don't help. They tell me nothing.

Any ideas?

cheers,

Frank
