The url to my web project is http://myserver/myapp/default.htm,<BR>but I don't want to show the user myserver name. The way I would like the url to appear is http://myapp/default.htm. Is there anyway to do this?
Your server's name can appear on the title bar when a page opens up or on the status bar when they mouse_over a hyperlink. You can sort out the first by using frames (only the frame name will appear) and you can sort out the second by not having hyperlinks (maybe buttons, images or other features with click events instead) or by setting the status bar text to soemthing innocuous when they mouse_over a hyperlink. See MSDN for general details.<BR><BR>hth<BR><BR>Franco<BR>lokidude@hotm ail.com
Hi Franco - thanks for your reply. The server name appears on the title bar for a brief second, but is quickly overwritten by my page title. I am using buttons with click events instead of hyperlinks, so I'm not too worried about the server name being displayed when the user mouse_overs a hyperlink. The problem is that users access my site via a link from another site and the creators of the first site are not using frames. Therefore, when they redirect the user to my site, the user is shown the full url including the server name. This is what I'm trying to resolve.
