    Default Client side validations

    Hello,<BR><BR> i have one form to accept userid and password. After clicking the button, first perform client validations. If success perform the database checkup. How can i do this. <BR>Which controls should i use <BR>&#060;input type="text" id="txtUID" runat="server" /&#062;<BR>or<BR>&#060;asp:textbox id="txtuid" runat="server" /&#062;<BR><BR>What is the difference b/w these two. When to use input and asp:<BR>I am just learning dotNET<BR><BR><BR>Thanx in advance

    Hi if u use the u can use the &#060;asp:textbox id="txtuid" runat="server" /&#062;&#060; ASP.NET validation controls..if u use the input type="text" id="txtUID" runat="server" /&#062; u have to write a javascript function for the validations..<BR><BR>Thanks<BR>Satya<BR>Gummadi009
