    Default Select

    I have the following select statement :<BR>strSQl = "SELECT * FROM application where firstname LIKE &#039;%" & Request.Form("firstname") & "%&#039; & " AND " & surname LIKE &#039;%" & Request.Form("surname") & "%&#039;"<BR><BR>When I run the code I get the following error :<BR>Microsoft VBScript runtime (0x800A000D)<BR>Type mismatch: &#039;[string: "SELECT * FROM applic"]&#039;<BR>/VipModels/resresult.asp, line 20<BR><BR>What am I doing wrong ?<BR><BR>Thank you<BR><BR>

    Default Is the line you posted...

    ...the line where the error is? Did you post the exact code?<BR><BR>Oliver.

    Default Show a few lines before...

    ...that line.<BR><BR>I have a hunch that you have already given the variable strSQL some datatype that can&#039;t accept a string.<BR><BR>Or, if the line you show is *NOT* line 20, then do show line 20 (again, plus a few lines before).<BR><BR>Heck, just show all your lines from start down to line 20.<BR><BR>
