Default Query a record set

I have a record set and I want to perform a quick check to see if a value exists. Is there a way to query the record set without just cycling through each row looking for the value?

Take a look at the Find method in the ADO docs.

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/ado270/htm/mdmthfindmethodado.asp

Default Why not just use SQL...

...to only get the records you are interested in, in the first place???

Yeah, you *can* use FIND as Xander says, but your performance may be really really horrible, depending on how many records you are working with.

RULE 1: Use SQL to *start* by getting *only* the records you will process in the ASP page. *THEN*, if there's something you need to do beyond that, rule 2 applies.

RULE 2: Thing about your problem again. Are you sure you can't find a SQL solution to it?
