Default 502 bad gateway?

    Hi folks,
Can anyone help me figure out why my IIS services have stopped working (or at least, working reliably?) I'm running WinXP Pro with IIS 5 and whenever I try to access ANY file through either my machine name or //localhost it responds with a 502 Bad Gateway error. I'm just looking to have my site work for ASP testing purposes, and do not have it configured to do anything with the outside world... can anyone suggest a probable cause for the error and (even better) a solution? I've re-installed IIS and confirmed that the default web site services are running... Microsoft's knowledge base doesn't seem to address this issue past telling me what a 502 error means.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Alex Stanford

look in your network settings. do you have the loopback adapter installed (or other network service)?
