Default email validation

    Hi,
I am using a regular expression to validate emails and this is the pattern i am currently using:-

regEx.Pattern = "^[a-zA-Z][w.-]*[a-zA-Z0-9]@[a-zA-Z0-9][w.-]*[a-zA-Z0-9].[a-zA-Z][a-zA-Z.]*[a-zA-Z]$"

im new to reqular expressions so only have a basic understanding of the syntax at the moment.

this expression seems to be quite near to what i need but wondered if anyone could help address these requirements?

i would like to ALLOW square brackets...
ie[] (currently validates as FALSE)

NOT ALLOW 2 dots in a row...
ie is currently validating as TRUE

restrict the .extension to maximum of 10 characters if possible...

thanks for any help...
