I'm looking for a "smarter" way to display dropdownlists and have the correct value selected as stored in the database. I have been using a hidden text field in conjunction with
FindByValue to do the selection. Is there a way to do this without having to use a hidden text field?

If txtRegions.Text <> "" Then
ddlRegions.Items.FindByValue(txtRegions.Text).Sele cted = True
End If

Let's say the above drop down list can have three values, Yes, No, or N/A. I use add items to setup the list and then the value in the hidden text box txtRegions to help with the selection. It just gets cumberson to have all these hidden text fields when you have 20-30 of these yes/no/na toggles on the form. Any suggestions are appreciated.
