I am using cdonts for the first time and my first step was to just go and run a simple page on the server to see if I could send just a basic email. So I copied the source from a FAQ and pasted it in. It's here:

<%@LANGUAGE="VBSCRIPT" CODEPAGE="1252"%>
<%
Dim objMail
Set objMail = Server.CreateObject("CDONTS.NewMail")

objMail.From = "email@example.com"
objMail.Subject = "How TO send email with CDONTS"
objMail.To = "firstname.lastname@example.org"
objMail.Body = "This is an email message" & vbcrlf&_
"with CDONTS." & vbcrlf&_
"It is really easy. "
objMail.Send

Response.write("Mail was Sent")

'You must always do this with CDONTS.
set objMail = nothing
%>

I ran the page and got this error:

error '8009000f'

Object already exists.

/testmail.asp, line 12

Line 12 is the send call. I was just wondering if this is the kind of problem I would get because something is not installed right or an smtp server is not running. It is a real pain to get people here to check on that stuff for me so I was hoping someone could tell me if this looks like the kind of error that would be caused by something like that.

I thought this was the kind of question probably answered before but for some reason when I go to search the forum I get a db error.
