Default Database location NOT the same as Web Pages location

Is it possible to have your Web Pages on a Web Server and your database on a different Web Server? For instance, if my Web Pages resided on a Texas Server and the database resided on a Pennsylvania Server. If this is possible how would you do it? DSN,DSNLess,OLEDB? I assume even if you could do this your web pages would be extremely slow. Any ideas, thoughts or past experience with this would be greatly appreciated.

It can be done, that&#039s the great thing about the internet. The problem is that it would be slow, and also unreliable. I have actually never heard of production web sites doing it that way. It is however very common to put your web server and database server on different machines on THE SAME network.

As to how it&#039s done, the same way it would be done on the same network, set up a DSN pointing to the server in Penn. and fire an asp on your web server.

Hope I helped some

Nathan
