I think what you mean is "can we write an application to handle a particular file extension", to which the answer is yes. it's just a registry setting which tells windows that your application handles that type. <BR><BR>"creating file extensions" is not exactly a sensible way of putting it.

go to IIS Service manager.<BR>get the website properties<BR>go to home directory<BR>click 'configuration'<BR><BR>that's the app mappings/script mappings interface. add a new one which matches the existing .asp mapping in everything except the extension. not hard.
