I"m trying to send an email from the session_onEnd Function within the Global.asa file of my site. I used to have this functionality working on windows 2k server using the CDONTS.Newmail object, but this object is no longer supported by windows 2003 server, so I have to use the CDO message object. However, my script doesn't seem to like that. I'm sure the mail server is configured properly because I can email something from just a plain .asp file. But if i copy the same section into my asa file, i get nothing. This is my session onEnd portion:

sub Session_onEnd
Application("LastSession") = session.sessionID
dim email
set email = server.createObject("CDO.Message")
email.to = "firstname.lastname@example.org"
email.from = "email@example.com"
email.subject = "sufg"
email.textbody = "text"
email.send
Application("Sent") = "yes it sent"
End Sub

The Application("Sent") variable is for debugging purposes. it never gets set. I do know that there are certain objects that can't be created within the global.asa file (i.e. dictionary) because of threading issues, but i don't see why the cdo.message object would have an issue. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
