Default Server.CreatObject Funtion and MSXML 3.0

We have installed MSXML 3.0 on our server. However, when trying to use the Server.CreateObject function like this --> Server.CreateObject("MSXML2.ServerXMLHTTP.3.0") I get an error. However, is I call it like this --> Server.CreateObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP") it works just fine. I have used a couple different XML sniffers and they all say I am running 3.0. My questions are:

1. Is Server.CreateObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP") using MSXML 3.0?
2. Is there a difference between the two calls?
3. Are there any other reasons the first call wouldn't work?

Default Not the right class identifier

    1. No
2. Yes
3. use: Server.CreateObject("MSXML2.XMLHTTP.3.0")
4. Why did you install msxml3 on your server when it isn't
the newest version of the parser? msxml4 has been out
for over a year and has better support for things like
SSL. There may even be an msxml5. Check
downloads section.
