Default wierd problem

I'd asked how to export tables created in asp to excel so that i get them in printable format. I'm able to do it .But i have a small problem.
There is a field called BondNo in the table which is of the format --/-- (i.e 2 nums/2nums).When i give the field as 05/05,it gets displayed as 05/may in excel. It takes it as a date! even though i've specified the data type as varchar in sql server

Default Or, better, enclose it in quotes...

Safest thing to do, anyway. Enclose all text fields in quotes.
