Default Displaying Lock Information

I have a SQL Server DB with ASP pages for editing the DB. There are many users (200 or so users) and the problem is that 2 may be editing the same data at the same time. I need to find out how to display an error message if a user is trying to edit a locked row.

For instance...

Betty is editing record #203 and David is trying to edit the same record. I want the ASP page to display a warning that there is a lock in place for row #203, and to check back later.

Is this possible?

Thanks,
Drew
