    Default altering column "null" to "not null" need to drop

    Hey guys,<BR><BR>Quick question. I&#039;m writing scripts to change a table column to NOT NULL from NULL in SQL Server 2000:<BR><BR>ALTER TABLE dbo.labour_time_card ALTER COLUMN store_key int not null<BR><BR>There are 2 indexes and 1 auto-created statistic that are referencing this field. <BR><BR>Is there any way to run this statement without having to first drop all indexes and statistics referencing it?<BR><BR>thanks,<BR><BR>Jason

    Default Not that i know of

    just drop and recreate the index update statistics when you are done<BR><BR>
