there's the onunload event, but it's technically not linked to clicking the close button.

there's no event for this as such in order to prevent hijacking by unscrupulous users.

j
http://rtfm.atrax.co.uk/
thank you atrax
the problem with my web application is i have a logout button for users to click. When they click the logout button, i will use session.abandon() to clear the session for that particular user.

however, user sometimes complaint that their session still exists eventhough they logout out properly. And sometimes they did not click the logout button but closes the IE window by clicking the X close button on IE.

any better ways to kill/clear a particular user session besides using the session.abandon command?
