Default Letting User Download File

    I have a user login to my ASP .Net site (which is under the root dir), then while they are there a Word document is created, and is placed in a subdirectory called doc. I want the user to be able to download this file. I placed the following code in my page:

<a href=<%= "c:\inetpub\wwwroot\doc\" + (Session["proposalIDValue"]).ToString().Trim() + "cummulative.doc" %>>
MS Word - Cummulative Budget Document</a>

It shows up, but nothing happens when you click it. If I am on my local computer and I right click an Save As it downloads, but if on another remote computer, I can't click or Save As. Any ideas?

Thanks.
If you set up docs as a virtual directory you should be able to link directly to the file...

www.mysite.com/docs/<%=(Session["proposalIDValue"]).ToString().Trim() + "cummulative.doc" %>
