Default problems with drivers

    We recently switched a system from Oracle 8i to Oracle 9i and now our recordset inserts don't work right. It complains about precisions of numbers and null values all over the place. The following is an example of usage:

var rs = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.RecordSet");
var SQL_QUERY = "SELECT * FROM tablename";
rs.Open(SQL_QUERY, oraConn, 3 , 3);
rs.AddNew();
rs("ID") = ""+nID;

Yeah, but you're not actually doing an insert there. Well, not exactly. Why not just do the following (it's more efficient):

var SQL_QUERY = "INSERT INTO tablename (col1, col2) VALUES (" + myVal1 + ", '" + myVal2 + "')";
var objConn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection");
objCon n.Open(oraConn);
objConn.Execute(SQL_QUERY);
objConn.Close();

Bear in mind I've not coded server-side JScript for a while... :-)

Craig.
