    Default "Licensed" Server Applications

Our company sells a product that has a server component. One of the licensing "levels" is for "number of users". "Number of users" is defined as the total number of users who can be registered users in the system. <BR><BR>The problem is that I can&#039;t think of any fool proof way to enforce this, because ASP is "open source".<BR><BR>I suppose the strategy could be to have some crucial functionality embedded inside of some compiled code, but is this possible with ordinary ASP?

Write a *.dll and use it with COM. Unless they know what it is they will have a tough time getting around your check. At that point though, some or much of your application would need to be tied to that check or they could simply delete calls to it and the page would operate normally.
