i have some asp pages that create some reports in Excel and have been doing this for awhile. the problem is last week, we had to rebuild the server (win2k, officeXP) and since then everytime one of the reports run, it creates a excel shortcut to the reports in the c: directory and also a shortcut to the reports folder. The reports use templated excel files as the bases of the reports and then saves the reports under a date based name emails the reports out and then deletes the reports. the template files in the report directory are in a different drive. does anyone know what to do to stop this? it's not really harming the server, it's just driving me nuts creating all the shortcuts to the reports
