Default Automatic Run

I&#039ve got a database of job listings. People have the option of signing up for an e-mail mailing list, specifying the types of jobs they are interested in. I need to get a script to run automatically every week or so and generate a list of e-mail so that an e-mail can be sent out to those who have subscribed to the list, notifying them of new postings that might interest them. Does anyone know how to do this? (or parts of it?) Could someone point me in the right direction? I really need help on this.

Thanks in advance,
Mike

I have pondered the same thing, I have thought of one way that would be fairly simple, just create a VB proggy to do it, and put it in your task scheduler. This should be fairly simple. Another idea, is to make an asp that does it, and put something like this in your scheduler:

iexplore.exe http://127.0.0.1/runmail.asp

and make runmail.asp compile your list, send the emails, log stuff, or whatever, and use javascript window.close (or VBScript equivalent) when you are done. The first method is more elegant, and probably more efficient, but the second one is easy to implement, and could be used until you have the time to write the little VB app.

Hope that helps!
