Default ASP hangs IIS 6.0 under intense page hits

    Hi,

I need to pick the brains of some of your who are experienced with IIS and ASP.

We have an ASP page with the following code, to execute another SQL server database driven ASP page. So that it looks like a static page, which may index better with search engine. It is working fine, except under intense traffic, especially when search engines' spiders are indexing the pages, then it hangs IIS.

Do you think we should use ASPhttp or ASPtear? Are these 2 components more scalable and stable?

We are running IIS 6.0, on a dedicated Xeon server, so speed should not be an issue. We have narrow the problem down to the script below. This problem has been a real headache. Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.

Andrew

<%

getpage =""

Function GetHTML(strURL)
Dim objXMLHTTP, strReturn
Set objXMLHTTP = SErver.CreateObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP")

objXMLHTTP.Open "GET", strURL, False
objXMLHTTP.Send

strReturn = objXMLHTTP.responseText
Set objXMLHTTP = Nothing

GetHTML = strReturn
End Function

' Write it:
Response.Write GetHTML(getpage)

%>
