I have a problem with my .aspx files. The .asp files show up in Windows Explorer with their proper icons but the .aspx files show up with text file icons.

Heres a little background on my system that might help diagnose the problem. I'm running Windows XP Pro. I installed the .NET framework BEFORE I installed IIS. This caused some problems itself at first, but then I ran aspnet_regiis.exe and that seemed to fix them. But then I noticed how the .aspx files were showing up. I was a classic ASP developer before so I dont know how .aspx files are suppossed to show up, and whether or not they actually do have their own icon.

But another problem thats potentially related to this is that my system won't recognize default.aspx as the default page when I load http://localhost. It will recognize default.asp just fine but not default.aspx. I can put a link on default.asp that links to an .aspx file and the .aspx will process just fine from there, but I can't get it to use an .aspx file as the default.

Any suggestions?
