Default Permission denied error

Hi, I just installed XP Pro on a machine and I'm getting a 403 permission denied error when I try access .asp pages within the wwwroot directory, such as in the form http://localhost/p/index.asp.

Anyone know what settings in IIS cause this?

well first of all, make sure you are allowing anonymous connections, then check your NTFS security settings on that folder and make sure that you're giving access to the IIS anonymous account (usually IUSR_MACHINENAME) if you don't know what NTFS is, do a search.
