Default Deployment & Monitoring

    Hi

I have an application that is in use, but also still being developed. I am trying to find a way to deploy changes to the application without booting out the users. Has anybody here seen a way to do this?

I imagine this would be tricky for ASP.NET/IIS to handle automtically. The solution I am considering now is to give the application a 'maintenance mode', which will block new logins and thus bleed the system of users. This would require some sort of monitoring, which I haven't tackled yet.

How do you monitor the users logged into an ASP.NET app? Do I have to use a performance counter control? where should I put it, how should I configure it to monitor users?

cheers
Tim

Are you relying on in-memory sessions or some other volatile state storage?

How are you booting the users out? out where?
