Default FSO question

evening all. It's unusually late for me to be here, but the missus is out, I'm bored, and I've got to thinking about work. How sad.

Anyway, just a quick FSO question: can you use FSO to manipulate another server's file system?

I'm about to start scoping an intranet app, and both my intranet and file servers are behind my firewall, on the same network, in the same domain. I want to use FSO (on the intranet server, obviously) to monkey about with the fileserver.

Easy enough? I've only ever done single-server apps before.

ta

Rob

    Default Sure...

...if you do the permissions right. Remember that IUSR_xxxx where xxxx is the name of the machine that IIS is running on has to have the appropriate permissions on the other machine(s).

It's probably easiest to do a Map Network Drive for the other machines (what I have always done), but I doubt that it is necessary.
