Default Session Variables Lost When Going To https://

In my site all my pages are http:// pages.

Then my last page is a secure page. I get there by doing
a response.redirect to the secure page with the following code:

response.addheader "WINDOW-TARGET", "_top"
strMySecurePage = "https://harmonweb/securecheckout.asp"
response.redirect strMySecurePage

My problem is that all my session variables are being cleared.

What am I doing wrong? Should I use cookies instead?

Thank you for any help.

Karl

Is the secure page held on a different server to the rest of your site? If so then you will lose all your Session variables as they are held on the first server, there are still there and available but only to scripts run on that server.

Hope that helps

Pete

Pete thank you for your response.

Yes the pages is actually in the same directory on the same
machine I&#039m just switching to https://

This problem only effects Netscape. I think (???) that is has
to do with the fact that the server name changed from
http: to https: and thats why its happening. Its also
happening with cookies too. I&#039ve tried to contact Netscape
but they are of little help. You have to sign up for a developer
program to even send them an e-mail (how stupid). Maybe one day
the world will have one browser or two that are compatible.

Have a great day!

Karl
