I am working with an Access database that is within a workgroup, which is set up through the workgroup admin. This is my question. I am wanting to connect to this Access database on our network through a sql sp and import data to a sql table (SQL db is located on another server) to display via an asp page. The issue that I am having is that the server that my sql db/web apps resides does not have MS Office installed and we do not have a license to do so. Is there a way around the workgroup admin to make this connection to Access? Can I some how create a separate ODBC connection the the .mdw file on the network that holds the pwds and then upon authentication redirect to the needed database? At this point, no matter I do I still get the following error message:

Cannot start your application. The workgroup information file is missing or opened exclusively by another user.

Thanks in advance!
