Default Database Maintenance.

I have a database which is growing everyday by 500 to 1000 records. My queries generally don't go beyond 30 days and sometimes 60 days. The old data is needed only to investigate transactions for some queries from customers.

I find the queries are taking longer as the database is growing. How do i come with a backup plan for this. Is it good to truncate database every year.

Please help me.

    Default What we do

we archive data older than 180 days. All that data is moved to another similar db.....if we need any info we unarchive it as in copy it back (but that is for us) for you, you can just query the archive db.
