I have a pattern to validate a simple class of email addresses. The pattern allows alphanumeric characters, dashes (-), underscores (_), and dots (.) before and after an @ character. The tricky part is that only one dot character can appear in sequence. So,
j.doe.@email.com is ok, but
j..doe@email.com is not

The other restriction I want to impose is a min and max length of the input email address. I do not know how to add this to the pattern I've got.

Here is the current pattern:
^[w-_]+(?:.[w-_]+)*[@](?:[w-_]+.)+[w]+$

Can you tell me how to impose the min/max length on the overall expression?

Thanks,
k
