anyone got any idea how to simulate a sequesnce of key presses.

Our telesales dept have a big plasma screen showing their call times - this need to be refreshed every half hour (it is not browser based). There is no mechanism in the reporting app for doing this. So every half hour someone is manually closing the app and re-opening it.

I want to simulate keypresses so this can be automated.

Can you do this? Preferably in VB.net, C# or VB6

So if I write a little VB app to do this the problem I see is that the keypresses need to be 'played back' while my VB app is not in focus.

I have used address managemnt software that simulates keypresses to get info into an underlying application so know it is possible. So I guess I need to know if this is something you get for free with a programming language or if you need an third party api/component to achieve this

any ideas?
