Default Commands in Access that need double quotes

Thaks the people that gave me the tip earlier on putting double quotes in a command string. Maybe someone out there knows how to get the ADODB to send the whole string (not just to the first occurence of ") to an access database. As of now the string is
SELECT X FROM Y WHERE Z="M*"
but the access db only gets this
SELECT X FROM Y WHERE Z="
which it takes exception to, as do I.
Any tips gratefully received

Bill, stick the parameter in single quotes and close the whole string in double quotes

"SELECT X FROM Y WHERE Z=&#039M*&#039"
