    Default uploading file

    hi,<BR><BR>in my website,i want the user to upload the file. the data will be in column wise and if the file does not have a specific column then i should not allow the user to upload the file. <BR><BR>is there any way to check the files situated in the local machine of the client before uploading

    No, they&#039;d have to be uploaded before they&#039;re inspected.<BR><BR>You COULD use an ActiveX component or possibly a Java applet to investigate the user&#039;s system, but there are loads of security implications that would need to be considered.<BR><BR>Craig.

    Default XUpload is a good..

    .. ActiveX control that I&#039;ve used.<BR><BR>I know it&#039;s pretty robust and I&#039;ve done a bunch of JavaScript with it to control things to a finer detail than normally&#039;s allowed.<BR><BR>But, of course, I&#039;m working in a controlled environment and we can enforce IE 5.5+ only.
