Default MSSQL and MySQL Tables Question

    Hi,

I have been given a *.sql file, I am told this sql file will create the necassary tables in MS SQL if I run it from the Query Analyzer.

Is it possible to do the same in MySQL with this *.sql file???

If not what are the options for getting the same tables set-up in MySQL.

Many Thanks

Darrell....

    Default Yes, but...

...almost surely there will be some SQL-SERVER-specific things in that file that MySQL won't be able to handle.

It's *possible* that the file might be plain vanilla enough that it would work in both DBs, but it's pretty unlikely.

On the other hand, armed with an editor (even notepad) and a MySQL manual and a TSQL (for SQL Server) manual, it wouldn't be too tedious a task to translate one dialect to the other.
