    Default Server.CreateObject("Excel.Application")

    i issue a Server.CreateObject("Excel.Application") from my Asp and I get the following message:<BR>The call to Server.CreateObject failed while checking permissions. Access is denied to this object. <BR><BR>If I run client code and issue a CreateObject("Excel.Application")<BR>I am Ok. Why is this ?<BR><BR>I want to make use of excel on the server for the purpose of produce graphs a gif files.

    IIRC, it&#039;s because the Excel application object is not actually safe for scripting. given that it&#039;s running &#039;unattended&#039; on the server, there&#039;s now way for a user to intervene with it, hence the trouble.<BR><BR>though it&#039;s equally possible that this has something to do with Office&#039;s profile information features, which would require a &#039;real&#039; account ot access them, not just the IIS standard IUSR_MachineName account<BR><BR><BR>j<BR>
