I have been pulling my hair out all day trying to find an answer, so I've decided to ask here.
I have a file... DeleteRecords.vbs ...I created to do some simple moving, deleting, and counting records in a DB. I am trying to set up CDONTS to send out an email if there is a new record added. But when I try to run that DeleteRecords.vbs file I get an error... ActiveX component can't create object. Below is the code for the CDONTS I set up.

If rsRecordCount("CNT") > 0 Then

Dim myMail

Set myMail = CreateObject("CDONTS.NewMail")

myMail.From= "myName@mail.com"
myMail.To="firstname.lastname@example.org"
'myMail.BCC=""
myMail.Subject="Test"
myMail.BodyFormat=0myMail.MailFormat=0
myMail.Body="This is a test"
myMail.Send
set myMail=nothing

End If

What am I doing wrong?
For some background...my web server has the default web site running, and I have some asp programs that use CDONTS that work fine.

I set up another web site on the same machine (different NIC, different IP) that I call TestWeb. This is the folder where I am trying to run this .vbs file unsuccessfully.

I found that CDONTS.dll is under the WINNT folder on the machine, so I assumed that any folder would have the capability to use CDONTS.

What am I doing wrong??

Thanks.
