I think I must be going crazy either that or I am missing something that is so obvious I aught to be shot. I am trying to perform a database update using this sql statement:

UPDATE Users SET privileges='1111111100' WHERE UserIDNum=1

This line gives the error:

usrUpdate.open sql, conn, 3, 3

sql is that sql statement and conn is defined as:

Set conn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")
conn.Op en "PROVIDER=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=" & Server.MapPath("../db/engineering.mdb")

and the error is:

Error Type:
Microsoft JET Database Engine (0x80040E14)
Syntax error in UPDATE statement.
/Admin/editAdmin.asp, line 42

This seems like it is just an error with the sql update but I can't see anything wrong with is. The two column names and the table name are both right and the UserIDNum is a number while the priviliges column even though it looks like a number is stored as text. Anyone see anything wrong that I am missing? Or have any ideas what else could cause this error?
